The greatest feeling The Lord wants you to feel is joy. There are obstacles in life, but trusting in The Lord can help you feel that God is with you. Pray as much as you can or meditate on God and his word. Go to church and hangout with other like minded Christians. It’s a great thing to feel the love of God which comes through dedication to Christ who is our Lord and Savior.
How do you feel Joy you maybe asking. It comes from an inherent peace knowing that God is in control of everything because everything is his will. His will consists of us coming closer to him. That inner peace knowing we all are in God’s hand and he will never give you too much that you can’t bear what comes your way proves God is love. Finding joy comes from believing God loves you and his love counts the most. He created you and gave you life. Even in pain there can be tranquility to feel that everything is going to be okay. Don’t worry because God will handle it. You may have to do things to accomplish things, but the outcome was already determined by God. God is in control so let Jesus take the wheel just like that Carrie Underwood song was talking about.
Finding joy is also recognized by knowing that the more you are dedicated to The Lord, the happier and more joy you will feel. The majority of dedicated Christians feel a sense of joy and peace because they dedicate themselves to loving The Lord Jesus Christ with all of their hearts and souls. Learning to pray, reading The Bible and going to church are all good ways to focus on God. Also being mindful of what entertainment you are using. Ask yourself “is this entertainment that a Christian should be watching?”. What you feed your brain will make you feel a certain way, so make sure your entertainment is PG and appropriate. Also silence is good for when you want to meditate on God and feel collected because it can help you sort out whatever is on your mind. Follow that up by praying to God to give you peace and let The Lord’s will be done.
When it comes to how people treat you, you can pray for them, but try surrounding yourself with people that will lift you up. If someone does treat you in a way you don’t want to be treated, give them love and a compliment. Your generosity can go a long way. Don’t be in situations where people bring you down. It says in Matthew 7:1 “Don’t judge yest ye be judged”. Meaning no one should judge anybody. Stick with heartfelt people that are bound to lift you up.
Feeling joy as a Christian is a choice and with the proper dedication to The Lord and giving yourself to God’s will you can achieve that stance of feeling happy and being filled with joy. Remember to love The Lord with all of your heart, mind and soul and accept that whatever happens in this lifetime is okay because you are in the hand of God.
